The Museum of Antiquities / Royal Coin cabinet, Rapenburg 26, Leiden
On Saturday October 9th 2004, the annual ONS-meeting in the Netherlands will be held at the premises of the
National Museum of Antiquities, Rapenburg 28 at Leiden.
(!!! Museum entrance !!!)

Again a number of different subjects will be covered. As previous years, we propose to end the day with a diner in an oriental atmosphere and again as previous year we have opted for the speciality restaurant Asian Palace. We hope that again many people will attend the ONS-meeting and stimulate the mutual contact among the members.

The tentative program will be:

09.30 - 10.15 Welcome with coffee/tea in the museum cafe at the ground floor of museum of Antiquities.

Note: Due the merger of the Royal Coin-cabinet into the Money- and Bank Museum, the activities at Leiden have ceased from the 1st of October 2003 and to be moved to Utrecht where the new museum will be housed at the premises of the present Royal Dutch Mint. We are very grateful to the director of the Money- and Bank Museum that for our annual meeting accommodation is provided at the Museum of Antiquities at Leiden till the proposed Museum in Utrecht is functioning.

10.30 - 12.30 lectures will be held in the auditorium at the 2nd floor of the Museum of Antiquities, some of the topics will be:
Coinage of the Elymais by Anne van't Haaff;

In continuation of the above subject Patrick Pasmans will present a lecture with the title: Did the Parthians used different weightstandards?

Nico Arkesteijn will present a lecture on Islamic glass weights, particular those present in the former National Collection (now part of the Money-Bankmuseum).

Additional short papers, questions, news items and what else will be brought forward.

Members are invited to come forward with such short items.
